Arsenal v Atletico Madrid (Champions League)

overage of the UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg clash from the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal return to the last four of Europe’s elite competition looking to make home advantage count against an Atlético side renowned for their defensive resilience and knockout experience. The two clubs last met in European competition in the 2018 Europa League semi-finals, where Atlético progressed 2-1 on aggregate after a disciplined display across both legs. With a place in the final at stake, Arsenal will aim to break down a typically organised Spanish defence, while Atlético look to keep things tight and take a valuable result back to Madrid.

Coverage of the semi-final second-leg tie from Allianz Arena. In their previous home game in this competition Bayern beat Real Madrid 4-3 to progress through to this stage, winning 6-4 overall on aggregate. Their visitors had a slightly more comfortable time of it in the quarter-finals as they beat Liverpool 4-0 across the two legs to make it to their third consecutive semi-finals in this competition.

Moises Caicedo opened the scoring after 14 minutes before Cody Gakpo replied for Liverpool, only for Estevao to score with virutally the last kick of the game to earn Chelsea the victory.
